Mali: the campaign against malnutrition and malaria in the Kangaba circle

Malaria and widespread malnutrition are the two scourges facing children in Mali.  Even today, nearly one in five children does not reach the age of 5.  Since May 2011 Alima and the AMCP, its local partner, implement a program to campaign against infant mortality through managing malnutrition and treating malaria.

 Haiti: intervening in response to the cholera epidemic

Following the terrible earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010, the country has had to cope with a cholera epidemic that has already caused over 5,300 deaths and affected more than 320,000 Haitians since October 2010.  In partnership with Solidarity International, Alima is helping cholera victims by setting up an efficient treatment a rehydration support network.

Haïti: Alima cares for the earthquake victims

The earthquake that ravaged the country on January 12, 2010 claimed many lives, destroyed 60% of health infrastructure and weakened Haitian society in its entirety.  The disaster killed more than 200,000 people and even more were injured.

We had to act quickly to help people in difficult circumstances and with limited resources.  Looking back on our medical interventions.

Niger: campaign against malnutrition and malaria

In Niger, almost one in five children does not reach the age of 5.  Since July 2009, Alima and BEFEN, its local partner, have coordinated a medical-nutrition programme in the Zinder region.  The project has already looked after than 26,000 malnourished children and treated 33,000 children with malaria.
