Presentation of Alima’s CHW strategy at Harvard medical school
Karolina Brook, student at Harvard Medical school participated during the summer 201 in an internship with ALIMA. One of ALIMA’s goals is working on Millennium Development Goal 4: targeting under-five mortality. One tactic to address the issue of childhood mortality is by decentralizing health care to village health workers.
Karolina’s project was determining what specific aspects of a community health worker could best be implemented in Niger – a population that is very different from others where community health workers have been successful. This poster summarizes her research goals, methodology, key findings, conclusions, and three-step implementation plan. Those results were presented to her fellow students and faculty at Harvard Medical School on 12 January 2012, at the Soma Weiss poster session.
