Newsflash…ALIMA and partners presenting at upcoming international conferences

ALIMA’s Medical Director ; Associate Professor of Critical Care Nikki Blackwell will be giving three presentations at two forthcoming medical conferences.

On the 26th September, ALIMA has been asked to present at the Bedside Critical Care Meeting, in New South Wales, Australia.  The topic is ‘How I do Stuff’ and will focus on how to deliver critical care with very limited material and human resources.

On the 13-15th October, the International ANZICS (Australia and New Zealand Critical Care Society) conference occurs in Australia.  This meeting is attended by doctors, nurses and physiotherapists from all over the southern hemisphere (up to 1500 delegates).  ALIMA has been invited to present our work on the treatment of patients with severe cholera in Haiti. ALIMA/BEFEN will also be presenting a paper on the 2010 treatment of children with severe malaria in our program in Niger

This follows an ALIMA/BEFEN presentation on the 2010 program results of the treatment of hospitalised children with severe acute malnutrition in Niger, at a conference in Canberra earlier in the year.

Congratulations to our Partner BEFEN in Niger and our various local partners in Haiti for the great clinical results which are causing such interest in the medical world.
